Our team views hearing healthcare as a journey that continues for the rest of your life; better hearing is a lifelong process that changes as you and your hearing evolve over time.

We put together this flow chart to better explain your patient journey with us so you can see the streamlined process from your first appointment to your latest check-up.

The Patient Journey with York Hearing Clinic

The First Steps

Your journey with us starts with a phone call – contact us to schedule an appointment with a member of our team, and we’ll sort out a mutually beneficial time for you to come visit one of our two locations.

Upon arrival, we’ll welcome you and get you checked in for your appointment with a member of our friendly staff. We do our best to be punctual, but we may need a minute or two to prepare after a previous appointment, so thank you in advance for your patience!

Our comprehensive hearing assessments take up to an hour to complete but help us understand your current range of hearing and what we can do to help. We’ll take an in-depth look into your ears, looking for potential external causes of hearing loss, such as infection or earwax impaction.

During our hearing assessments, we’ll get to know you and what your life is like outside of our office, such as the places you frequent and any medications you take, and then we’ll figure out a treatment plan that works best with your unique needs.

If your hearing assessment results indicate that hearing aids could significantly benefit you, then we’ll walk you through the different treatment options available to you.

Better Hearing Starts Here

We’ll work with you to develop a treatment plan that best fits your lifestyle and preferences. This is a team effort to make sure that your hearing health is working at top capacity in a way that’s comfortable for you.

After choosing your preferred devices from our catalogue, your advanced prescription hearing aids will be professionally fitted to your unique ears; our multi-step process involving custom impressions of your ears will make sure that your hearing aids will fit you perfectly.

With some adjustments to the devices’ programming as needed, we’ll incorporate any feedback from you to help make sure they’re performing at top capacity for you and your ears.

We’ll invite you back for maintenance appointments as you need them. Hearing aid repairs, earwax removal and annual hearing assessments will help us keep an eye (or an ear!) on your hearing and make adjustments to your prescription and programming as needed.

Hearing care doesn’t end once you get your hearing aids fitted. We’re here working with you as a team unit so that you can rest assured that you can hear the life you love for as long as possible.
